Given the success of her debut CD, Life In Him, and the sophomore project, Since He Came In, the anticipation is high for the latest release from Tonya Baker entitled Special Friend!

Since her debut in 2003, Tonya has shared the stage with such Gospel greats as Dorinda Clark-Cole, Byron Cage, Karen Clark-Sheard, Israel Houghton, Marvin Sapp, Lisa McClendon, Ben Tankard and more. She has participated in numerous industry showcases; toured with the Evolution II Tour and appeared on local broadcasts of Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN). As a featured artist, Tonya toured with fellow artist, Kevin Gray, on the seven-city Midwest Launch Indie Artist Tour. And she received international acclaim as part of the fifteen-city European tour sponsored by LeNuit de Gospel with Craig Adams Chorale (2007 and 2009).

Her awe-inspiring vocals are matched by her anointed pen. To Know You Lord appeared on Gospel Heritage Foundation’s Live 2003 Praise & Worship recording and Out the Box; the Stellar-Award-winning recording by phenom, Tonex. Legendary recording artist, Helen Baylor, recorded the track We Give You Praise and released it on her project, Full Circle.

This multi-talented psalmist enjoys displaying her acting skills in the role of “Mama” in the touring stage production, Church on Green Street, written by Evangelist Kamya Dunn.

Realizing that her unique gift is not about her, Tonya’s goal is to promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ and His wondrous love toward us. She is excited to see what God will do with this latest project and prays that He encourages, heals and sets free through the ministry of song.
